Paul D. Ramirez is Chairman of the Board of Directors of First American Financial Mortgage Corp.; he has been so since the company’s inception in 2001. His primary focus has been and remains fairness and creativity in lending to all borrowers regardless of their socioeconomic barriers.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Ramirez was President and CEO of Citizens Trust Bank MSI and First Southern Bank Mortgage Services. Paul began his career in banking in 1985 with American Financial Network Corp., where he rose to the position of President and CEO. During his long and illustrious career in mortgage banking, he has been an active member of Freddie Mac's UNBOG Committee, which fights against underwriting barriers - a member of Fannie Mae's Partnership Office Advisory Board - a member of the Board of Directors of Metro Fair Housing - and a member of the Housing Board of the Latin American Association. Additionally, in 2002, his was nominated to be the Commissioner of Banking in the State of Georgia.
Paul graduated with a B.S. in Building Construction and Architecture from Georgia Tech. He has extensive postgraduate experience including Stanford Research International's Strategic Planning curriculum.
Paul is a native New Yorker who has lived in Atlanta for the past 35 years; he has one daughter who graduated from Georgia Tech and currently is employed at its Research Institute.
